Marjorie O. Rude

Marjorie O. Rude, age 82, formerly of Westby, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006, at the Evansville Manor Nursing Home. She was born November 25, 1923 in Viroqua, WI, the daughter of Joseph T. and Christina (Hauge) Lee. She married Blaine L. Rude on February 21, 1945. He passed away on August 8, 1981. Marjorie had lived in Westby, WI and 20 years in Beloit, prior to moving to Brodhead. She had worked for former Besley-Wells (Bendix) of Beloit, and also had been a caretaker for an assisted living home in Westby. She was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary, all of Westby, and attended Bethany Lutheran Church of Brodhead. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Bill) Perkins of Brodhead; Marsha (Gary) Brown of Brandon, WI; six grandchildren, Mary (Chris) Davidson, Doug Brosier, Matthew Rude, Lindsay Rude, Laura (Don) Galster, and Michelle (Russ) Lichtenberg; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Bruce, and two brothers, Tilman and Clifford Lee. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby, WI, with Pastor Dennis Hallemeier officiating. Burial will be in Coon Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of services on Saturday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
