Mark L. Sandmire

Mark L. Sandmire, age 56, of La Farge, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was born February 1, 1965, to Dale and Delores (Hynek) Sandmire. He graduated from La Farge High School with the class of 1983. In high school he loved sports. Mark played basketball, baseball, was all conference in football, and was a high jumper and pole vaulter in track. Mark worked at Reedsburg Foods, Wil-Kill, and then S&S Cycle for over 25 years. Mark was obsessed with golf, playing it whenever and wherever he could (he even had a hole in one at Viroqua Hills Golf Course). He also enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys, liked to shine deer at night, going to movies, listening to rock music, and playing guitar. He mowed grass and snow blowed for his mom and other neighbors for many years. He was known for his sense of humor and his big heart. He liked to give more than receive. Survivors include his siblings: Gregory (Laina) Sandmire, Cheryl McBride, and his twin brother, Michael Sandmire; his niece, Nicole (fiancé Joe Cina) Sandmire; his nephew, Gregory Sandmire: his best friend, Wrigley; other relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved dog, Tango; aunts and uncles; and his grandparents on both sides. In lieu of flowers, donations to the La Farge Ambulance and Fire Dept. appreciated. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in La Farge. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
