Marla Lavold, age 75, of De Soto, left for Heaven and into her Savior’s arms surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. She was born on December 4, 1950, in Viroqua to the late Anthony and Leah (Martinson) Roberts. She graduated from Westby High School with the class of 1968. She married Dwayne Lavold on July 12, 1969, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Following their marriage, she and Dwayne moved to Las Vegas while Dwayne completed his military service. They later moved to Rockford, IL where together they raised their family, and she worked as a baker and cake decorator. After retirement, she and Dwayne moved to De Soto in 2001. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, painting classes, working at Festival Foods in the bakery department, and donating her time and talent at Redemption Chapel. She was a mom to everyone and was a giver of care and comfort to many.
Survivors include her husband, Dwayne; two daughters, Terina (Steven) Siekierski and Tara (Dan) Lehman; her grandchildren, Taylor, Owen, Emma, and Conner; her sister, Mya (Jerry) Fish; her brother, Marc (Roberta) Roberts; several nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends; and her church family.
Marla was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are appreciated to the Redemption Chapel elevator fund.
A Celebration of Marla’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Redemption Chapel. Pastor George Shick will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Marla’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff members of the ICU department at Mayo Clinic Hospital in La Crosse for the wonderful care they provided.
