Marlene Lothen

Marlene Lothen, age 80 of Viroqua, died Monday September 3, 2018. Marlene Iona Lothen, age 80 of Viroqua, died September 3rd. She had been a resident of Vernon Manor since Feb 2016. Marlene was born in the township of Harmony to Ernest and Martha (Volden) Helgeson on January 10, 1938. She was united in marriage to Arden C. Lothen on 27 October 1956; they had two children. After farming a few years west of Viroqua, they moved to town. She enjoyed her employment at Jefferys Dry Cleaners and also worked at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Marlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church; previously active in the Ladies Aid and Sarah Circle. She enjoyed antiques and gardening. Marlene is survived by her two children, Arvid of rural Westby and Naomi (Mrs. Joe) Boss of rural Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Arden in 2007 and two brothers, Elman and Armin Helgeson. "Always show each other the love you have for them" Marlene Lothen Funeral Services will be Thursday September 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial following at Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call during a visitation from 1-2 pm, before the service.
