Marley O. Stafslien, age 92 of Westby, died Monday, January 14, 2008 Marley O. Stafslien, age 92 of Westby, died Monday evening, January 14, 2008 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby where he had resided for the last four years. He was born on January 16, 1915 in the township of Coon, Vernon County, Wisconsin to Mathilda Stafslien. He was baptized at home on the Stafslien Farm and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He attended Brown School, then Coon Valley Grade School and Westby High School. He made his home with Thora and Victor Lunde where he farmed until his retirement. He then worked many years at the Coon Prairie Cemetery and became a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in 1993. Marley is survived by cousins and was preceded in death by his mother. Marley was a humble man: We loved him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday after 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coon Priarie Preservation Association. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
