Martin I. Overbo

Martin I. Overbo, age 65 of Viroqua, was taken home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Martin was born on February 19, 1941 in Viroqua to John and Myrtle (Robinson) Overbo. On February 19, 1960, he was united in marriage to Margretta Matson and together they worked the family farm for many years. Recently he had enjoyed driving semi for the Falker Farms. Martin was a wonderful husband and father, a loving grandpa and a friend to all who met him. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Packers. In addition to his wife and best friend of 46 years, Margretta, Martin is survived by four daughters: Regina (Fred) Schanck of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa (Dave) Boles of Brookfield, WI, Signe (Brian) Brawner of Hartford, WI, and Melissa (Chad) Mohler of Rochester, MN; ten grandchildren: Mark, Blake and Sophia Boles, Kirsten and Klaire DeQuardo, Blake, Drew, and Martin Brawner, and Emily and Jack Mohler; and one sister, Christine (Jim) Dee of Mitchell, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Alex Fortney. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Donald Greven will officiate with burial in the Bad Axe Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Memorials may be directed to the Vernon Memorial Hospice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
