Marvin Miller, age 87 of Cashton, died Monday, May 14, 2007. Marvin F. Miller, age 87 of Cashton, died Monday, May 14, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center in Tomah, WI. Marvin was born December 3, 1919 to Bernard and Dottie (Clark) Miller. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Holtet on August 24, 1940 and they were married 65 years. Marvin served in the US Navy from 19441945 and was stationed in the South Pacific. He then farmed in the Cashton area until his retirement in 1969. Marvin Loved fox hunting and his elk hunting trips to Montana. He also enjoyed sightseeing and his many fishing trips to the Mississippi river over the years, especially to Goose Island where he enjoyed catfishing and camping. Over the last 15 years, Marvin kept busy making firewood and riding four wheelers. Evelyn died June 9, 2006. Marvin is survived by four children: Gary (Mary) Miller of Cashton; Susan Miller of Lafayette, IN; Bruce (Marjorie) Miller of Warrens; and Danny Miller of Onalaska. He is further survived by grandchildren: Mark, Amy, Rhonda, Heather, Rachel, Sam, and Kristopher; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Waylen Holtet of Cashton, and two sisters-in-law: Clara (Harley) May of Westby, and Nima McDaniel of Cashton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn on June 9, 2006; one sister, Leila Mossholder; four brothers-in-law: Wyman Mossholder and Otto, Palmer, and Milton Holtet; his sister-in-law, Ethel Perkins; daughter-in-law, Linda Miller; and two grandchildren, Bryan and Kellie. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 South Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow in the Dell Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home.
