Mary Averkamp, age 75 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 Mary D. Averkamp age 75, of Viroqua, died Tuesday August 20, 2013 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on April 30, 1938 in Vernon County, to Otto and Della (DeWitt) Helgerson. She is survived by her two children: Mary Jo (Craig) Larson of Minneapolis and Brian (Laurie) Larson of Mauston; three grandchildren: Michael, Tanya and Logan; one great grandson, Odin; two sisters: Dorthy Meng of Bagley and Pat Siverhus of Beloit, Wisconsin; a brother, Roger Helgerson of Prairie du Chien and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beverly Wolford; two brothers: Jerry and Jack Helgerson; and their stepfather, Albert Swenson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Pastor Jason Kirkpatrick will officiate with burial in the Salem Ridge Cemetery.
