Mary B. Unseth, age 58 of Westby, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Mary Barbara Unseth, age 58 of Westby, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 15, 1953 to Ray and Virginia (Vergeront) Way. She graduated from Westby High School in 1971. Following high school, she worked for the Chippewa Herald and The Times (Westby Times). She later returned to school and earned her Medical Transcriptionist degree. Following tech school, she was employed by and retired from Steven D. Solverson, DDS. She also enjoyed knitting, camping, fishing and "the cabin". She is survived by five children: Travis of Cashton, Jason (Gina) of River Falls, WI, Sherry of Cashton, Trevor of Westby and Virginia (DJ) McNamer of Readstown; seven grandchildren: Megan and Larissa of Cashton, Nicholas, Cassie and Zachary Hirschfield of Cashton, Mara McNamer of Readstown and Molly Unseth of River Falls; other relatives and close friends. She is also survived by one brother, Jerry (Carol) Way of Chippewa Falls; sister-in-law, Peggy Way of Coon Valley; mother-in-law, Mildred of Genoa; two brothers-in-law: Arden (Ellen) of Viroqua and Ron (JoAnn) of Genoa; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Truman Unseth, Sr.; brother, Ron Way; and her husband, Truman on March 31, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate. Burial will be the in Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main (Hwy 14), in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
