Mary Colleen Thompson, age 79, of Beloit and formerly of Viroqua, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Mary Colleen Thompson, age 79, of Beloit and formerly of Viroqua, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Jovan Bea Hospital Riverside, in Rockford, IL. Mary was born March 14, 1940 in Viroqua WI to Ivan and Helen Christianson. After finishing her schooling, Mary went straight to work supporting her family. She married Blaine Thompson but would later divorce. Together they had one son, LeRoy Blaine Thompson. Mary worked her whole life, usually at different Restaurants filling staff positions as needed. She was tireless when it came to helping others. When she wasnt working shed relax by keeping sharp do crossword puzzles or other types of games. Mary also loved to read. Surviving Mary are her son LeRoy; her granddaughter Ashley Mitchell; her great grandson Lium; as well as her brother Burt Christianson. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her former husband Blaine. Funeral Services for Mary will be Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St., in Viroqua. Pastor Mark Eland from Beloit will officiate. A luncheon reception will follow the services. Friends may call during visitations, Friday night March 13, 2020, from 5-8 PM or Saturday morning one-hour prior to the service, both at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home.
