Mary M. Davis, age 67, of Viroqua, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1959, in Sparta, Wisconsin, to the late Egerton and Mary Davis. Mary graduated from Sparta High School in 1978 and devoted more than 20 years of her life to serving others as a Resident Assistant. She deeply valued her work with individuals in need, first with B-Care Group Homes and later with Campbell Family Homes.

Her caregiving was more than a profession, it was a calling she embraced with compassion and purpose. The most important aspects of Mary's life were her faith in Jesus Christ and her love for others. She walked closely with the Lord throughout her life, allowing her steadfast faith to guide her actions, compassion, and selfless service. She faithfully participated in worship through Lighthouse Assembly of God in Union Grove, Wisconsin, via online services, and also enjoyed attending Cowboy Church in Soldiers Grove, as well as the monthly Driftless Area Fellowship & Worship gatherings at Abt's Place in Westby.

Affectionately known as the "neighborhood grandma," Mary's home was a place of warmth, joy, and unconditional love. Her door was always open, and she welcomed all with kindness and generosity. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and lovingly embraced many neighborhood children as her own. Those who knew Mary experienced genuine love, encouragement, and acceptance. Mary found joy in life's simple blessings. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking for loved ones, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren. Whether sharing a meal, offering a listening ear, or extending a helping hand, she had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued, seen, and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Egerton and Mary Davis.

Mary is survived by her loving children: Angela (David) Cartwright, Bernard (Elizabeth) Larry, James (Dana) Larry, and Kelly (Tim) Martinez. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Michael, Alexis (Justyn), Kadience (Breckin), Julz, Adriana, Sandra, and Natalie, and a cherished great-grandmother to Damian Peterson.

She is also survived by many cousins, dear friends, and the many neighborhood children whose lives were deeply impacted by her kindness and love. Mary's life was a reflection of Christ's love. Her faith, generous spirit, gentle nature, and unwavering compassion left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (date is still to be determined) to honor and remember Mary's life and legacy. Her family invites all who were touched by her to join in celebrating a life so beautifully lived and a legacy that will endure for generations.

Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home & Crematory in Viroqua is serving Mary's family.
