Mary E. Skundberg, age 89 of Westby, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 Mary E. Skundberg, age 89 of Westby, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. She was born December 20, 1917 in Webster Township of Vernon County to William and Rena (Clark) Widner. She was united in marriage to Lorenzo Skundberg on December 17, 1943. Lorenzo died April 12, 1986. Mary loved the outdoors especially mowing and gardening. She and Lorenzo had enjoyed fishing, and hunting for ginseng and mushrooms. She also enjoyed playing cards (mainly Eucher), and being around other people. Mary had a strong faith and was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mona (Glenn) Fromme of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren: Lisa (Justin) Trimmell of Wichita, KS; Leslie (Jason) Bruce, and Jennifer Fromme, both of Springfield, MO. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren: Lawson and Bradley Trimmell, and Brandon Bruce; three brothers: Robert (June) Widner, Roger (Mary) Widner, and William Widner, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo; one sister, Gladys Tway; and three brothers: Lester, Dorman and Dorwin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call on Saturday after 12:00 noon at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
