Mary Ellen Rose

Mary Ellen (Hysel) Rose, age 65, of La Farge, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care in Viroqua. Mary was born to the late Francis and Margaret (Fosdal) Hysel on October 22, 1954, in Viroqua. Mary lived in the La Farge area all her life. She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1972. Mary enjoyed walking, going to rummage sales and thrift stores, visiting her best friend Linda Campton, playing cards with her cousin Rosie Driscoll and spending time with family. She was a very caring and giving person that knew everyone’s birthdays. Mary is survived by her son David Blum (Fathom); her grandson Owen Blum; her twin brothers, Hank and Frank Hysel; her sister Wanda Rush; her nephew Aaron Rush; nieces, Trisha (Rush) Johnson and Billy; great-nephews Cody Johnson and John Rush; great-nieces, Teresa Couey, Jewels Johnson and Madison Rush. Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Bland Bekkedal Hospice in Viroqua for the excellent care they provided. Also, special thanks to Mary’s cousins, Bonita (Toots) Dorchied and Joyce Hysel, for all of their care. A private graveside service for immediate family will take place at Bear Creek Cemetery.
