Mary Jane Ramsett, 80, of Holmen died on Saturday, December 24, 2011. Mary Jane Ramsett, 80, of Holmen passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mary was born October 16, 1931 in Westby to Stanley and Sadie Hollie. She married Lorren Ramsett of Viroqua on September 1, 1951. Mary was a wonderful homemaker, raising her family in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In her earlier years she enjoyed dancing and bowling and weekly card games with friends. Mary was an avid Packer fan all her life, living just blocks from Lambeau Field and attending all of their home games. Lorrens career required them to relocate many times over the years. They lived in California, Washington, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky until ultimately settling in Holmen after retirement in 1996. Mary will be deeply missed by her husband of 60 years, her four children; Rhonda (Bobby) Way, of Wauwautosa, WI, Joni (Jon) Robertson, of Mission Viejo, CA, Terry Ramsett, of Algonquin, IL, and Tom (Lori Fredin) Ramsett, of East Troy, WI, her grandchildren; Jeremy (Christine) Gonwa, Becky (Brad Sorensen) Gonwa, Christopher Robertson, Lauren Robertson, Annie and Jack Ramsett, and her great-grandchildren Leah and Gavin Gonwa and Kaydin Sorensen. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters Arlene Pederson of Onalaska and Evenelle Hansen and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eloise Holm, her brothers-in-law Blaine Pederson and Gerhard Hansen and her nephew Craig Hansen. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, Westby, WI. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home before the service from 1:00 to 2:00p.m. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kyla Lee, Dr. Sigurdur Bodvarsson, Marilyn Clarkin and the hospice team at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be sent to the Oncology Department at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
