Mary Ann Sprague

Mary Ann Sprague, age 88, of Mt. Sterling, WI, passed on June 23, 2026. She was born in South Dakota on December 10, 1937 to John and Rose Hoelker. She attended Seneca High School. She was known for cake decorating, cooking and sewing. Mary met her life-long partner Donald “Bud” Sprague and married in 1960.

Mary held many jobs, but in her later years she enjoyed working for the Mt. Sterling Cheese Factory until her retirement. She enjoyed, music concerts, gardening, flowers and bird watching.

Mary is survived by her children Mark, John and Jennifer, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald “Bud” Sprague, her parents, her sister Alice Stumpner and her grandchildren; Shayna Sprague and Kayla Milor.

Mary’s family would like to give a big thank you to the neighbors of Mt. Sterling and St. Croix hospice.

Services for Mary are private.
