Maxine F. Troxel

Maxine F. Troxel, age 73, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 22, 2020, at the Hillsboro Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born February 25, 1947, to the late Henry and Mildred (Sharp) McMillin. Maxine graduated from Soldiers Grove High School with the class of 1965. After getting married, she worked at Phillips Advance Transformer in Boscobel, where she worked for 28 years. Following the plant closure, she worked at Cabela’s until her retirement in 2012. She loved to fish, camp, spend time with her grandson’s dog, Isabel, listen to country music; and she was a Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include her children: Robin (Jean) Troxel of Readstown and Lorri Lotan of Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Tiffany (Andrew Strasser) Troxel of Chaseburg, Samantha (Doral) Hurlburt of Baldwin, Jerimiah Lotan of Lynnwood, WA, Troy Troxel of Hillsboro; four great-grandchildren: Croix, Gracie, and Cross Hurlburt of Baldwin, and Cruze Hurlburt (Haley Showalter) of Jackson, LA; her siblings: Arlene (David) Barr, Laurel (Darlene) Hestetune, Otto (Ellen) Clason, David Clason; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Larry Hestetune and Marlyn Hestetune; one sister, Marjorie (McMillin) Rogers; her brother-in-law, Randy Byl; her great-nephew, Logan Clason; and her special friend, Gordon Wilson. A graveside service was held for family and friends at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2020, at North Clayton Cemetery A Celebration of Maxine’s life will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the Soldiers Grove Legion Hall.
