May A. Haakenson, 84, of Westby died Tuesday, July 03, 2012. May A Haakenson, 84 of Westby died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Bethany St Joseph Nursing Home in La Crosse. May was born June 6, 1928 to Richard & Rose Nelson. She married Raymond Haakenson, June 26, 1946. May is survived by her daughters Paulette (David) Ross, Darlene Gill, Shelley Haakenson; grandchildren: Tammy (Chris) Daniels, Greg Ross, Kelly (Tammy) Haakenson, Candy Aman, Tory Haakenson, Tina Haakenson, Nicki Nuttall and Andy Nuttall. May was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter Linda Groom; her parents; brother Raymond & sister Janice. A graveside service will be held Friday July 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Coon Prairie Cemetery in Westby, Wisconsin. The family would like to thank the staff of the Avalon at Bethany St Joseph Nursing home for all the wonderful caring service they provided for her these last few years of her life.
