Maynard Forde

October 30, 1934 — September 17, 2011

Maynard E. Forde, age 76 of Ferryville, died Saturday evening, September 17, 2011 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born on October 30, 1934 to George and Leona (Anderson) Forde. On April 24, 1971 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Muggie" (Taylor). He was the owner and operator of Forde Septic for over 50 years. He had also worked as a contract mail carrier and had worked for Mathys on road construction. Maynard enjoyed: Sunday drives with Muggie, steak fry with family and friends in DeSoto, reading the newspapers, working, listening to Maggie May and polka music, and spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring husband, brother, son, father and grandfather and will be cherished and missed by all. He is survived by sons: Randy Bolstad, Brad (Marsha) Myhre, David (Tina) Myhre, Travis (Michelle) Forde, and Jamey (Tammy) Hamilton; grandchildren: Jacob Menne, Jessica Menne, Makelya Myhre, Dillian Myhre, Melinda Bolstad, Lance Bolstad, Brandon Bolstad, Sammy Bolstad, Tiana Groom, Kenneth Hamilton and Anthony Hamilton, Gabriel Corriea, Kaylee Corriea, Jonathan Corriea; one sister, Arlene Wallace of Ferryville; two brothers: Garrey (Karne) Forde of Pecatonica, IL and Roger (Jill) Forde of Eastman; nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Katie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Muggie on May 14, 2007; one brother, Lyle, brother-in-law, Harold, stepdaughter, Pamela and nephews: Dale and Larry Bark. Blessed be our memory of Maynard Forde. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Southwest Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Jim Folz will officiate with burial in the Walnut Mound Cemetery at Retreat. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the Southwest Prairie Lutheran Church or the Vernon Memorial Hospice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
