Mike's early years were spent on the family farm and in the nurturing environment of North Crawford Schools, where he graduated with the class of 1966. His sense of duty led him to serve in the U.S. Navy as an electrical technician from 1968 to 1972, including two tours in Vietnam. This period of service was a testament to his bravery and patriotism.
Upon returning to civilian life, Mike moved to California and worked at Porterville Electric for seven years. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually called him back to Wisconsin, where he founded McCormick Electric in 1979.
