Michael Volden

Michael Volden, 71, of Westby, died Friday, September 21, 2018. He was born on October 16, 1946 to Eugene and Mabel (Anderson) Volden. He graduated from Westby High School. He married Bonnie Peterson and they later divorced but remained friends. Michael was a member of the Unites States Navy, retiring at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. He also retired from the United State Post Office and was involved with the American Legion and VFW, Elks, and other organizations. He is survived by his son: Timothy Volden of Madison; mother, Mabel Anderson; sister, Rachel (Don) Severson of Tuscan AZ; brothers: Mark (Linda) Volden of Viroqua, Tom Volden of Moorhead, MN, Marlo Volden of Viroqua, and Bruce Volden of Tomah; as well as by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Burial will be at the Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
