Morris Keith Frydenlund

Morris Keith Frydenlund, age 88, of Viola passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born on August 31, 1935, to the late Carl and Josephine (Barness) Frydenlund in Madison. His parents came over from Norway through Ellis Island as legal immigrants and moved to Madison where Morris grew up his entire life.

He enlisted into the United States Army on January 27, 1953, and was placed into the Reserves in 1956. Morris was honorably discharged from the Army on February 28, 1961.

Morris was a handy man, having worked many professions such as: painting the inside of the Madison Capital Building dome, working for an Air Base north of Madison, maintaining the machines at Oscar Meyer, working for Orkin, and dabbling in construction.

During his free time, Morris enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was going out fishing, hunting, hiking, or sledding on toboggans. Something that Morris will be remembered for is being a terrific harmonica player. He had never studied music, but was able to play any song from ear.

Morris is survived by his children: Joe (Michelle) Frydenlund, Brian Frydenlund, and Yvonne Frydenlund; stepchildren, Jeff Liska and Kim Julius; grandchildren: Jeremy (Andrea) Frydenlund, Shar Ogliun, Davey (Meagan) Miller, Brittany (Kyle) Bogataj, William Miller, Amber (Carlos) Aldi, Jayna (Bryan) Tillman, Stephen Frydenlund, and Wendy Weeden; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives: Patricia Whalen, Janet Bringe, and Sharon Kelsey; his brothers: Leonard, Clarence, Harold, Floyd, Robert, and Donald; his sisters: Gladys, Viola, Janice, Johanna, and Susie; and grandson, Scott Frydenlund.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Sime Funeral Home in Readstown. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Morris will be laid to rest at Fancy Creek Cemetery (Gillingham Cemetery) with full military honors.
