Muriel I. Hanson

Muriel I. Hanson, age 85, of Ferryville, died Thursday, September 11, 2008. Muriel Iva Hanson, age 85, formerly of Ferryville, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse. She was born on December 31, 1922 the daughter of Walter and Goldie (Barker) Warren in Redmound, WI. On April 20, 1945 she married Alvin O. Hanson. Muriel worked for "Green Thumb" in Crawford County, raised tobacco, and helped out on area farms. She also cleaned for the Swing Inn for several years. She loved her grandkids and did a lot of babysitting. Muriel is survived by her children, Carlyle Hanson of La Crosse, Earlyn (Debbie) Hanson of La Crosse, and Phyllis Boardman of La Crosse; grandchildren, Lucas (Jenny) Hanson, Brett (Kendra) Hanson, Casey (Friend Ryan) Hanson, Travis (Angela) Boardman, Troy (girl friend Sarah) Boardman; great-grandchildren, Evan Boardman, Xaviara Boardman, Dravin Boardman, and Griffin, born on August 18, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; one brother, Lyle in infancy, and many other relatives and friends including her uncle Henry Warren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main (Hwy 82), in DeSoto. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in the Walnut Mound Cemetery at Retreat. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
