Listen to Obituary

Nanette Marie Washburn, age 62, of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, passed away November 14th, 2025, at Emplify Health system in La Crosse, Wisconsin surrounded by love.

Nanette Marie Washburn (Foley) was born on September 2nd, 1963, to Calvin and Irene (Doll) Foley. She graduated from Boscobel high school, and she was always an avid band member and baton twirler. She was a single mother for a while tending to Christopher and Kaylee while also working. This was until she met her sweetheart James. Nanette and James oddly enough met on a blind date, and the rest was history. They married on August 28th, 1993, at Immaculate Conception in Boscobel, WI, resulting in 32 wonderful years together

Nanette was born with a nurturing heart, and she carried that gift throughout her life. She found joy in tending to her many plants and in watching her grandchildren be silly — those little ones held a very special place in her heart. Nanette always had an eye for finding the perfect gift, no matter the occasion.

Her thoughtful nature and ability to choose something meaningful made every birthday, holiday, and simple moment feel extraordinary. She gave from the heart, and her gifts were a reflection of the love she carried for those around her. More than anything, she had a way of making everyone feel loved - no matter whom they were

She is survived by her devoted husband, James Washburn; her four children: Christopher Foley of Soldiers Grove, Kaylee (Devon Glick) Foley of Fennimore, Dakota Washburn of Soldiers Grove, and Cheyanna (Andrew) Fry of Boscobel. Nanette's legacy continues through her three sweet grandchildren: Cole Williams, Haisley Fry, and Lextyn Fry, who brought her endless happiness.

She is also survived by her siblings: Linda Marks of Westby, Patrick (Terri) Foley of Boscobel, and Jane Eckerman of Onalaska, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nanette was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Irene Foley, and her siblings, Mary Lee and Joseph Foley.

Nanette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She always made it her priority to stay connected with those she loved. Her gift of giving - freely and without expectation - touched countless lives and will remain her enduring legacy.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

"In her love as a wife, devotion as a mother, and joy as a grandmother, she gave her family roots to grow and wings to soar."

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be published when finalized.

Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
