Nathan J. Gunderson, age 17 of Viroqua, died Saturday, May 8, 2010. Nathan J. Gunderson, age 17, of Viroqua died Saturday, May 8, 2010. He was born on November 12, 1992 in Viroqua to Eric and Brenda (Bell) Gunderson. He was baptized at St. Marys Catholic Church in Gays Mills and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. He was currently a junior at Laurel High School in Viroqua. Nathan had a great love of music, especially heavy metal and was currently teaching a class about heavy metal music. He was recently a cast member of Laurel High School production of "Rumors". Nathans friends and family meant the world to him and he enjoyed facebook and X-Box. He is survived by his parents; and one brother, Griffin Joey Gunderson, (Nathan chose his brothers middle name and he shared a very special bond with him). He is also survived by his grandparents, Roseanna (Whiteaker) Gunderson and Gary & Phyllis (Connely) Bell all of Gays Mills; aunts: Chris (Brent) Williams of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Anna (Mike Frye) Gunderson of Ithaca; uncles: Terry Bell of Madison, David (Trisha Hird) Gunderson of Gays Mills, John (Koren) Gunderson of Ferryville; cousins: Brandon (Brittany Schultz) Williams and Kayla Williams, all of Ames, Iowa; Michaela Gunderson, Tyler Stussy and Hannah Mara, Tyler and Aubree Larson. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Phillip Gunderson. Blessed be our memory of Nathan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Linday Paul Jordan and The Rev. Margaret Eiben Hoversten will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday at Viroqua High School from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the family. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
