Nathan Noggle, 94, of Viroqua, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Nathan Nate C. Noggle passed away at the Bland-Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at the age of 94. He was born on July 18, 1922 in DeSoto, WI. He was the son of Nathan C. and Phila (Marker) Noggle Sr. Nate graduated from Viroqua High School and then attended the LaCrosse Vocational School. Nate was an entrepreneur and was the proprietor of numerous businesses. Nate married Ruth Wolfgram in 1946. In 1974 he married Marianne Sherry. Nate served his country in the Army Air Corps stationed in Edmonds, England during WWII. He was a member of the Viroqua VFW, the Viroqua Eagles and the Viroqua American Legion. In 2010 Nate was fortunate enough to be on a Freedom Honor Flight with other veterans to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C., along with his good friends Hank Hendrickson and Thor Thorson. Nate was an avid outdoor sportsman. Fishing and duck hunting on the Mississippi River all his life were two of Nates greatest pleasures. He also enjoyed gardening, woodcarving, playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Nate is survived by his children, Judith (George) Gucwa, Joan (Jim) Burkhardt, Chuck (Brenda) Noggle, Janet Myhre and Pam (Joe) Kushava, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his step daughters, Jackie (Rick) Clegg and Cathy (Rod) Lewis, 6 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren, also his very dear friend and companion Darlene Haser and her children Susan Haser, Diane (Ray) Bennett and Jerome (Lisa) Haser as well as more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and good friends, too many to mention. Nate is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marianne, his sisters Dorothy Thompson, Vivian Knudsen, Evelyn Scott and many dear friends. A Funeral Service for Nathan will be held on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 12-noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Yvonne Marshall of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call upon the family during a visitation Saturday morning from 10:00-12:00 prior to the service. A luncheon at the Eagles will follow the services. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed the Bland-Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care, or to the charity of the donors choice in Nates name. Nates family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bland-Bekkedal and Dr. Davidson for the wonderful, loving care and concern that dad and the family received.
