Neta Gilbertsen

August 3, 1932 — March 25, 2019

Neta Gilbertsen passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014. She was born in Green Lake, WI on August 3, 1932 to Cora and Frank Divine and was one of six daughters. During her life she saw and experienced many things; some were painful or filled with sorrow. Yet her heart and soul were always guided by the beauty she always knew she would find anywhere and in any situation, as long as she remembered to look for it. Her incredible strength of personality, spirit and unending loyalty were always evident in her strong unwavering faith and in the love she so openly shared with everyone she met. Her children especially can attest to her loyalty and love, as well as that indefinable strength. Each of us knew we could always count on "Momma" no matter what. Her love of people, animals, flowers, antiques, castles, old ruins, reading, antiques, nature, movies, antique clothing and fashions . . . well, just about everything, kept her sharp and alert right up to the end. She leaves behind sons: Richard (Bey) of Chicago, IL, Andrew (Diane) Gilbertsen of Chicago, IL; daughters: Nedji Bey of Gulf Port, MS, Rebecca (Bill) Weber of Neenah, WI; a step-daughter, Joan Best; daughter-In-law, Amy (Keenan, deceased) Brogdon; grandson, Michael (Michele) Bey; granddaughters: Dana, Karen, Kaitlyn, Kara, and Katie. In addition she leaves behind great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and more friends than anyone could ever count. She was preceded in death by youngest child son, Keenan Brogdon; husband, Wallace Gilbertsen; her parents; siblings and their spouses; many lifelong friends and numerous pets that were lucky enough to share a place in her heart. She had told the nurses she could see her angels. With so many loved ones having already passed before her, one can only imagine how many angels where waiting for her. Her entire family would like to extend their appreciation for the love and unending care and support from her friends and the community of Gays Mills, including, but definitely not limited to Kay, Mary and Darlene. All of you, and her beautiful hills, are the reason she made Gays Mills her home. Thank you to all of the doctors and nursing staff at Gundersen Lutheran La Crosse and Libby from Palliative care for the incredible caring and compassion they showed mom during her final days. Private Service were held. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
