Norma Jean Hoskinson

Norma Jean Hoskinson, 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Westby and Viola, died Monday, November 7, 2011. Norma "Granny" Hoskinson, 82, of Plymouth and formerly of Westby, passed away on Nov 7, 2011. Norma was born October 15, 1929 in Ranger, Texas. She married David Robert Hoskinson in 1945. He preceded her in death on their 61st wedding anniversary. Together they had one daughter, Donna. Norma moved to Wisconsin in 1974 to be near her family. She worked for many years at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby and also at the Westby Bakery. She taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed working with children. To many, she was simply known as "Granny." Norma is survived by her daughter, Donna (Nottestad) Simonson of Viola; grandson, Shane (Emilee) Nottestad and their children Dylan, Ty, Brody of Westby; granddaughter, Bridgett (JR) Neu and their children Julianna & Braden of Plymouth; a special son-in-law, Sherman Nottestad of Westby; two siblings: Pat (Cecil) Howard of Keller, TX; and Short (Paul) Young of Hobbs, NM; nieces Aprill (Tim) Harrod of Louisville, KY and Pamela Ashcraft of Ruidoso, NM; a sister-in-law, Merle (McElroy/Ashcraft) Dunlap also of Ruidoso, NM; great-nieces and nephews: Jesse Young and Brandi Young Davis of Hobbs, NM; Britt (Rachel) McCormick of Plano, TX and Todd (Sue) McCormick of Victoria, Australia. She is further survived by her very special nephew James (Nancy) Walden, their daughter Melissa (Steve) Baker and their daughter Hailey, all of Farmington, NM; a "special granddaughter", Tammy Gundlach and her children Wyatt and Tyra of Viola; special friends Richard and Sherry Weber, their daughter Nicole of Lancaster; as well as many other dear relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, David; sister, Virginia Lawrence; and brother, Rock Ashcraft Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (hwy56) in Viroqua. Burial will be held in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family
