Norma May Schnor, 84, of Stillman Valley, IL, died on Monday, July 5, 2010. Norma May Schnor, 84, of Stillman Valley, IL, died at home on Monday, July 5, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Norma was born on March 27, 1926 in Sycamore, IL, to Charles A. and Maud M. (Reynolds) Coan. In 1948 she married Vernon Schnor and moved to a farm in Iowa where they lived until 1965, when they moved to rural DeSoto.She enjoyed dancing, music, playing cards, traveling, and enjoyed the farm life. Later in life she enjoyed casino gambling. Norma is survived by her children: Eva (Rod) Ives, Stillman Valley, IL, LaVern Schnor, Plain, WI; step daughter Korean (Jim) Long, Pulaski, TN; grandchildren Troy Stearns, Tray Stearns, Brandon Stearns, DeSiree Schnor, Heather (Vinod) Abhichandani; step grandson Dakota Ives; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; 12 siblings; step-grandson, Kenneth Long; and friend and companion for many years John Rogowski. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main St, in DeSoto. Pastor Doug Andersen will officiate with burial in Victory Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
