VIROQUA Norman 'Nubby' Oftedahl, age 86 of rural Viroqua, died Friday May 19, 2017 at his home. Norman (Nubby) Oftedahl, 86, of Viroqua, passed away on May 19, 2017 at his home in Viroqua. Nubby was born in Viroqua to Carl and Emelia (Thompson) Oftedahl on May 19, 1931. He proudly served in the military for 22 years. He married MaryAnn Elizabeth Leum on June 30, 1951 in Westby. Nubby was a mechanic, a farmer, and also worked for the phone company, and postal service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles since 1983, as well as a past president. Nubby enjoyed winters in Arizona for the last twenty years. He is survived by his three children Fritz (Renee) Oftedahl of New Lisbon, WI; Dan Oftedahl of Viroqua, WI; Tina Marie (Art) Hodge of Gillette, WY; six grandchildren: Danielle Doocy, Courtney Seidel, Lauren Oftedahl, David Hodge, Samantha Oftedahl, and Spencer Oftedahl; five great-grandchildren: Payton, Isaac, Lily, Jack, and Oliver. He is also survived by three sister-in laws Olga Gossett, Eleanor Ekern, and Eleanor Oftedahl, as well as a brother-in law, Gilbert Leum. He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn, his parents and four siblings: Hazel, Doris, Elaine, Kenny; and his grandson, Douglas. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home (123 W. Decker St, Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may call from 10am till the time of service at 11.
