Odean L. Hirschfield, II, age 44 died Monday, April 13, 2015. Odean Laverne Hirschfield II, age 44 of Hatfield and formerly of Viroqua, died Monday, April 13, 2015 at home. He was born on February 26, 1971 in Madison to Odean Hirschfield and Alda Mae Buxton He went to school in Madison, Bloomingdale, and Viroqua. Dean served in the National Guard and was stationed in Saudi during Operation Desert Storm. He had worked at NCR in Viroqua and LaCrosse Premium Water prior to working for Werner Enterprises in Tomah as a driver, and then worked in the office where he was currently the DM. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and passed down his avid love for reading to his son Nick and daughter, Cassie. Dean was a NASCAR fan and shared that passion with his son, Zach. On April 9, 1994 he married Sherry Unseth: They later divorced. Together they have three children: Nicholas, Cassie and Zachary Hirschfield. Dean is also survived by his mother, Alda Buxton of Viroqua; three siblings Carole (Brian) Funk of Viroqua, Clinton (Sally) of Soldiers Grove and Charlene (Monte) Larson of Viroqua; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a special friend, Michelle Caulkins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clayton Hirschfield who died on December 14, 1991; grandparents: Gerald Buxton, Alma Buxton, Irene Buxton, Helen Hirschfield and Oscar Hirschfield. Dean was a very devoted American who took great pride in the USA. Blessed be our memory of Dean Hirschfield. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 16 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow in the Liberty Pole Cemetery.
