Ole A. Yttri

June 5, 1948 — June 13, 2024

Ole A. Yttri, age 76, went to be with his Lord on June 13, 2024. Born to Chris and Agnes Yttri of Viroqua, Wisconsin, he was a lifelong resident of Vernon County.

Ole farmed with registered Holstein cows for several years following high school. He first married Alice Ekern. They had four children and later divorced. He then married his wife of 38 years, Sherri, and became a stepfather to her two children. At that point, Ole was able to fulfill a lifetime dream of earning a college degree. He subsequently graduated from Western Wisconsin Technical College with an Accounting and later from Upper Iowa University with a Human Services degree. He held several employment positions over the years including work with Community Action, Private Industry Council, Western Technical College, and as a Farm Advisor and Accountant.

Ole was a true servant leader and a man of quiet strength. He gave freely and tirelessly of his time to his greater community, serving on countless boards and committees throughout his adult life. Most recently, he served on the Vernon County Board of Supervisors, the Town of Webster Board, Vernon Electric Cooperative Board, and Redemption Chapel Council.

Although he was very involved in his greater community, he always had time for his family, and each one had a very special place in his heart. Ole and his wife Sherri have especially enjoyed camping and traveling with family over the years, making many precious memories.

Ole is survived by his wife, Sherri; his children: Christopher (Angie) Yttri, Scott (Andi) Yttri, Ingrid (Mark) Lake, Eric (Karri) Yttri, Catherine (Jay) Vosseteig, and Curt (Nicole Allecram) Parr; his grandchildren: Brianna, Taylor (Joe), Jordan, Jacob (Katie), Lukas, Thane, Theo, Austin, and Kiara (Colton), Ashley, and Flora; his great-grandchildren: Chloe, CJ, Havyn, and Hunter; his brother, Larry Yttri and sister, Irene Fortney; his brothers and sisters-in law: Tom Jacobs, Art (Dorothy) Gronning, Marge Nemec, Eric (Eileen) Nemec, and Bob (Karel) Oliphant.

He was predeceased by: his parents; his son-in-law, Gary Storm; his sister, Clara Jacobs; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Nellie Nemec; his brother-in-law, Le Roy “Bud” Nemec; and his great grandson, Gunner Gjefle.
