Ole Myhre, age 90 of LaCrosse and formerly of Chaseburg, died October 17, 2006 at his home in LaCrosse. He was born in Clinton Township on June 19, 1916 to Andreas and Berte (Smedhaugen) Myhre. He was baptized by Reverend Halvorson and confirmed by Reverend Holum. On March 29, 1953 he was united in marriage to Elvera Nichols and they farmed in the Chaseburg area. After retiring, they moved to LaCrosse. Ole is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elvera; three daughters: Kay (Verlin) Buros of Coon Valley, Anita (John) Schneider of Onalaska, Rita (William) Huise of Stoddard; one granddaughter, Alicia Penchi of Stoddard; a special nephew, Irvin Goplin; as well as other nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Martin and Bernard Myhre; and five sisters: Borghild Goplin, Bergithe Goplen, Olga Myhre, Sophie Ekern, and Asta Easterday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Country Coon Prairie Church, rural Westby. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of plants and flowers the family requests memorials to Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church or the Country Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
