Olive Parker age 84 of Westby, died Monday, January 14, 2008. Olive O. Parker, age 84 of Westby, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born in Chaseburg, Wis. on July 16, 1923, the daughter of Ole and Helga (Hanson) Vold. She graduated from Westby High School on May 26, 1942 she married Donald Parker at Waukon, IA. She lived in Beloit, WI for a short time and worked at Fairbanks orse, but lived most of the time on the Parker Home farm near Dell. Olive was an owner of the Village Shoppe in Cashton. She worked in the dietary department of the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. Olive loved spending time with her family, solving puzzles, playing jokes with Christmas gifts, morning coffee at Grand Central, traveling, spending time at the cabin in Conover and afternoon drives with Morris. She is survived by three children: Donna (Arvid) Holey of Coon Valley, Lynda (Alan) Fish of La Farge and John (Connie) Parker of South Dakota; her special friend, Morris Engh of Westby; seven grandchildren: Scott (Fay) Holey, Steven (Janet) Holey, Sheila Jubera, Eric Holey, Amy (Blake) Herken, Brian Fish, Holly (Mark) Shane; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Reed of California; one sister-in-law, Lillie Parker; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Parker on March 25, 1989; one daughter, Judith (Arvid) Mellem who died on October 6, 2005; eight siblings: Myrtle, Amanda, Lloyd, Hank, Oscar, Karsten, Ruth, and Hazel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Dell Cemetery Friends may call on Friday after 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home.
