Ona Love Berge

Ona Berge, age 98, of Cashton, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. Ona was born on April 8, 1927, in Purdy, WI to Otto and Nellie (Winchel) Hanson. She grew up on the family farm and attended grade school at Purdy Valley School through 8th grade. She worked as a waitress in Cashton where she met her future husband, Perle Berge. She was active in Brush Creek Lutheran Church for many years and took a lot of pride in her garden and flower beds at home.

Survivors include her sister, Betty Bolton; her sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Hanson and Eunice Hanson; and several nieces and nephews.

Ona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perle; her sisters, Olga (John) Leland, Leona (Lawrence) Berg, and Bonnie Hanson; her brothers, August “Auggie” Hanson, Orbin Hanson, and Otto (Bernice) Hanson Jr.

A Funeral Service for Ona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Ona will be laid to rest at Vang Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
