Ona C. Hanson

Ona C. Hanson, age 87 formerly of Westby, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. She was born on February 18, 1919, to Peter and Edna (Peterson) Goplin. She married Joslyn Hanson on June 19, 1937 and was a life-long member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. She retired from Vernon Manor where she worked as a nursing assistant for many years. She is survived by children: Gloria (Garland) Kolbo, Rolland (Ellen) Hanson, Douglas (Alene) Hanson, Marlene (Robert) Buros, Diane Wang and friend Kurt Mills, Michael (Rosa) Hanson, Karen Hanson and friend Charles Hotlen, Kristine (David) Sveum; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mamie Paulson; her brother, Paul Goplin; two daughters-in-law: Iris Hanson and Joan Hanson; and a large circle of family and friends. In addition to her parents, Peter and Edna Goplin, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joslyn; two sons, Roger and Grant; two grandchildren: Conrad Buros and Todd Harris; one great-grandson, Zachary Hanson; three brothers: Grant, Arvid and Erling Goplin; and two sons-in-law: Larry Harris and Ron Tracy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
