DeSoto / VICTORY Ona Fay Wetterlin, age 89, died Sunday November 13, 2016 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. She was born in De Soto, WI to Vista (West) and Verden Sallander. She was born a triplet with brother, Orville, and sister, Oleda. Ona attended grade school in De Soto and High School in Lansing, IA. She married Robert Wetterlin on August 21, 1948. Ona worked as a beautician, depot agent for SOO Line Railroad, and as a store clerk. She and her husband returned to Victory, WI when they retired. Ona belonged to the New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Womens Society and was always ready with a helping hand and will be missed by many who loved her. She and Bob were blessed with three sons: Harold Jan, Thomas of Victory, Daniel Robert of Eau Claire; four grandchildren: Scott and Brian, Adam, and Samantha (David) Borgeson; three great- grandchildren: Morgan and Dawson Borgeson, and Eric Wetterlin; and sister-in-law, Kate Sallander. Their hearts were broken when Harold died at age 40. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob on June 7, 2011; son, Harold; brother, Orville; sister, Oleda; and brother-in-law, Harlow Lange. A Funeral Service for Ona will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Hope United Methodist Church on Route 82 in Red Mound, WI. Pastor Jim Aniol will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Victory Cemetery on County Rd. UU and Cemetery Rd. in Victory off State Hwy. 35. A luncheon afterwards will be back at the church in Red Mound. Friends may call during a visitation from 11:00 to 1:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials may be directed to New Hope United Methodist Church of Red Mound.
