Ona Stenerson

Died Friday, May 13, 2005 Ona Stenerson, age 86 of Westby, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born on March 1, 1919 in Wild Horse, Colorado to John and Belinda (Neprud) Dahl. On March 9, 1940 she was united in marriage to Elmer Stenerson and he preceded her in death in 1987. Ona worked at Borgens Caf and retired from Walts Grocery in 1987. She was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Abigail Circle. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Corky) Hankee of Cashton; six grandchildren: Kelly (Lyle) Schaller of Cashton, Michael (Mary) Hauser of Holmen, Patrick Hauser of Concord, NC, Timothy (Kim) Hauser of LaCrosse, William (Jennifer) Hankee of Warland, WY, Monte (Tamarra) Hankee of Cashton; one great-grandson, Jordan Hauser; two sisters: Bertha Dahl and Ruth Bertling, both of Westby; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary in 1986; one grandson, Gregory Hauser; one brother, Irvin Dahl; and one nephew, Tom Dahl. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Country Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Meyer will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call on Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. at the Country Coon Prairie Church.
