Orla "Mae" Brown

April 12, 1931 — April 5, 2025

Orla “Mae” Brown, age 93, of rural Boscobel, died on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. She was born April 12th, 1931, to Orland and Eva (Knaus) Martin, in Gays Mills, WI. She grew up in the Rolling Ground area.


She married the love of her life Jack Brown in 1947. In 1951, they moved to their farm where they raised their sons.


Mae had the best homemade donuts. She enjoyed cooking, playing piano, Bible Studies, pictures and scrapbooking. She always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. If she was out and about, she always wore a hat and dressed nicely.


To Mae there was no such thing as a stranger, just friends you haven’t met yet!


She is survived by her son, Tim (Judy) Brown of Muscoda; daughters-in-law, Sherry Brown of Boscobel, Pat Brown of Boscobel; her son, Terry (Janet) Brown of Ft. Dodge IA; her grandchildren: Rick (Betty) Brown, Boscobel, Scott (Kari) Brown, Boscobel, Autumn (Mirko) Stefanek, Wisconsin Dells, Kyle (Danille) Brown, Boscobel, Tyler Brown, Calgary Canada, Renita Brown (Tex Fredrich) Spencer, IA and Rachel (Eric) Harmon, Algoma; great-grandchildren: Abri Brown, Boscobel, Brenner Brown, Boscobel, Trinity Steele, Boscobel, Keanley Steele, Boscobel, Jax Brown, Boscobel, Kacy (Eric) Ward, Monfort, Kira Tisdale, Boscobel, Jackson Brown, Calgary, Canada, Cooper Brown, Calgary, Canada, Kinnick Fredrich, Spencer, IA, Paiclee Fredrich, Spencer, IA, McCoy Harmon, Algoma, and Keaton Harmon, Algoma; sister, Betty (Dick) Bell, Eastman; sister-in-law, Doris Martin, La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister; her husband of 58 years Jack; her son Tom; and great-grandson, Briar Brown.
