Orrin Paulson

Orrin Paulson, age 95 of Viroqua, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born on December 28, 1916 at Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin to Martin and Susan (Engen) Paulson. Orrin was employed in education for 33 years. He taught 5 years at rural schools, 1 years at Elroy where he was a high school teacher and coach, 1 years in Viroqua Junior High as a teacher and coach. From 1947 to 1950 he was a teacher and Principal at Readstown. 1950 to 1962 Orrin was the Vernon County Supervising Teacher, and from 1962 to 1972 he was the Business Manager at Viroqua Area Schools. On August 10, 1946 he was united in marriage to Lavon Berryman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Richard (Cindy) Paulson of Westby, Jon (Georgia) Paulson of Edgerton, and James (Debbie) Paulson of Waunakee; nine grandchildren: Jared, Leah, Terry and Ryan Paulson (Dougs children), Justin Paulson (Richards son), Alissa (Nik) Paulson-Franciskovich and Andrew (Miranda) Paulson (Jons children) and Jason and Joshua Paulson (James children); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Orrin was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; four brothers; his son, Douglas and daughter-in-law, Judi. Orrin will always be remembered for his sparkling eyes, laughter, warm hugs or handshake and of course his delicious bread "By Golly" he would send for miles to many family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery.
