Orville Byron Haynes

Orville Byron Haynes, a man of faith and friendliness, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 1, 1940, Orville grew up in Readstown, WI, where he was active in the community and was resilient from a young age, having lost his father, Corwin Haynes, when he was just four years old.

Orville graduated from Readstown High School in 1960. He lived in Beloit from 1962 to 1970. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lowe on January 19, 1963, in Readstown WI. In 1970, he moved to Sugar Grove and worked for Borden's Warehouse, showcasing his work ethic and commitment. In 1974, Orville and Barb took over Barb’s parents’ farm.

Family was the cornerstone of Orville's life. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Barbara Jean (Lowe), and together they raised three sons, Mark, Scott (Lisa), and Ben (Sally). Orville's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jacob (Megan), Brandon (Jasmine), Johnathan (Gracie), William, Maddox, and one on the way, who will grow up hearing tales of their grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corwin and Beatrice (Smith) Haynes; and stepfather, Russell Guist; along with his sisters, Betty (LeMoine) Clark and Vera (Robert) Nelson.

Orville's was an avid player of dartball and a big supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. His love for sports was not just that of a spectator; he actively participated in softball in the Old Timers League in Readstown. Orville's evenings were often spent watching episodes of Gunsmoke, a show that captured the era he cherished.

A Memorial Service for Orville will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Sugar Grove Church of Christ, rural Soldiers Grove, with Pastor David Behlmann officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Orville will be laid to rest in the Sugar Grove Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
