Orville Milnor Hanson

Orville Milnor HansonNovember 7, 2005 Orville Milnor Hanson, age 88, was born Oct 25, 1917 to Melvin J. and Anna (Carlson) Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. He attended South Natwick School, and farmed with his parents until he was united in marriage to Ellen Carol Ann Johnson on June 17, 1944. She died July 7, 1998. They farmed in Jefferson Township most of their 54 married years, until Orvilles retirement at age 82. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a hard worker who loved his farm, tobacco, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Orville is survived by his children and grandchildren: Odean (Pauline) Hanson and children Bryan (Fianc Tami), Mark, and Gregory of Viroqua; Arvid (Cathy) Hanson and children Jason, Jeremy (Linsey), Jarrett and Justin of Westby; Verlyn Hanson of Las Vegas, NV and children Adam, Nicole, Trisha, and Shaun of Westby; LuAnn (Donald) Miller and children John and Katie of La Crosse; Klarice (Jeff) Lagerman and children Emily and Ryan of Viroqua; DeVerne (Jackie) Hanson and children Jessica, Paul (Erin) and Rachel of Viroqua; Helen (Brad) Mashak and children Tyler and Kyle of Westby; Sheryl (James) Fortney and children Carl and Allen of Viroqua; and Ramona Hanson of Viroqua. He is also survived by one daughter-in-law, Donna Haagenson and her children Andrea, Marsha, and Rhonda Hanson of Winona, MN; five great grandchildren; brother Raymond (Caroline) Hanson of Viroqua; three sisters Lillian Fladhammer of La Crosse, Verna Holte of Coon Valley, and Doris Larson of Westby; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Orville was preceded in death by one son, Carl Hanson; one granddaughter, Anita Hanson; one sister, Aline Holte; and one brother in infancy.
