Pamela Ann Nelson

September 23, 1967 — May 22, 2023

Pamela Ann Nelson, fondly known as Pam, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, in Westby, Wisconsin. Born on September 23, 1967, in Minnesota, she was a gentle, kind, and thoughtful soul who touched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Pam was a proud graduate of De Soto High School, where she was known for her warm and friendly demeanor. She carried this spirit with her throughout her life, making friends wherever she went. Pam was a hardworking and dedicated individual, committed to making a difference in her community. She enjoyed working at VARC, where she was able to help others reach their full potential.

Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for landscaping and rock collecting. Pam took great pleasure in taking nature walks, always appreciating the beauty that surrounded her. She had a unique ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, a quality that she shared with those around her.

One of Pam's most favorite events was the Rainbow Gathering. This annual gathering brought together people from all walks of life, celebrating peace, love, and unity. Pam fully embraced the spirit of this event, and it was a perfect reflection of her gentle and kind nature.

Pam was a beloved sister, mother, and friend. She is survived by her sons, Josh Barker and Travis Nelson; daughters-in-law Shaya and Trina; and brothers Randy and Murray Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth (Engstrom) Nelson. Her family meant the world to her, and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Pam's love for her family was unwavering, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In remembering Pam, we will celebrate a life well-lived, on Monday, May 29, 2023, at 4:00 PM in the Main Shelter at Vernon County’s Sidie Hollow Park. Her gentle spirit and thoughtful nature will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
