Patricia Elaine Rood

Patricia Elaine Rood, age 74, of Viroqua died Saturday April 28, 2018. Patricia was born in Viroqua on November 23, 1943 to Alden and Bernice (Beffa) Berg. She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1963. She later married Norman Rood who passed away last year on July 20, 2017. They met while both working at Vernon Manor, Norman continued to work, while Patricia stayed at home and supported their family. After they were married they enjoyed spending time with their many grandchildren. Patricia died and joined Norman again on the 39th anniversary of their wedding day. Pat collected spoons from all over. She loved to embroider and do cross-stitching. She held on to every gift anyone had ever given to her, able to recall the time and place of the gift and they remained very precious to her. During her last six years as she became a resident of the place (Vernon Manor) she loved so much, she became involved in many activities and committees, including getting Maggie Mae to come and perform for the residents. She loved singing with their local ensemble at the nursing home as well. The family wishes to extend their sincerest "Thank yous " to the entire Staff at Vernon Manor for their exceptional care for Pratricia and the friendships of nurses Synetta and Kelly. Patricia is survived by: her children Tammy (Kelvin) Hanson, Donald Don (Cassandra) Seaman Jr., Chris (Ron) Rood, and Sheri (Chris) Lanik, four grandchildren Angela Domenget, Robert Jorgensen, Adam (Emily) Seaman and Ashley (Austin) Ayala, and one great-grandson Donovan Stevens. She was preceded in death by: her husband Norman, both of her parents, and a brother Gene Berg. Friends may call during a Celebration of Life in honor of Patricia on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., followed by a graveside service at the Viroqua Cemetery. Pastor Donald Greven of the Bad Axe Lutheran Church, S5755B Cty. Rd. N, Viroqua will officiate. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials should be directed to Vernon Manor in Patricias name.
