Paul C. Schneider, age 73, of Readstown passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, to be with Jesus. He was born July 14, 1949, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Jorgenson) Schneider in Racine. Paul graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1968, and worked for a short time before joining the United States Army in 1969.
Paul married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Anderson, on November 29th, 1969, and ten days later he was deployed to Vietnam. He continued serving his country for 20 years where he got a degree in Bio Medical Technology which he used for many years in the military and then in hospitals he worked at. Paul and Sandra spent a lot of time traveling during his military career. Their favorite duty station was in Germany where they had both of their children: Gina at the Bitburg Air Force Base in 1971, and Eric at the Heidelburg Army Hospital in 1972.
After his 20 years of service, he retired from the Army in 1992, and Paul and Sandra settled their family in Readstown. After his retirement, he worked overseas for three years as a Bio Medical Technician in Saudia Arabia and Oman. When Paul returned home, he started driving semi and cement trucks until he “officially” retired in his late 50’s from service-related disabilities.
Paul is known in Readstown for his beautiful lawn full of healthy flowers because gardening was a great passion of his, loving to spend most of his time in his garden. He was very artistic and creative, taking pictures of outdoors and painting them and making jewelry and Christmas ornaments. Paul spent a lot of time of reading, especially history, military history, westerns, Sherlock Holmes, fantasy, and so much more. He had a special love for his grandchildren, loving to read to them, especially Green Eggs and Ham. Paul had a great passion for the outdoors, enjoying his time by fishing and hunting.
He was a God-fearing man although he didn’t spend much time at church. One year during his time in the Army, he was a Chaplain Assistant. Paul made it a priority to make sure he was at all his grandchildren’s school and church programs and all their sporting events.
Paul is probably fishing with his dog, Clintser, the coolest dog in the world in Heaven.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 ½ years, Sandra; his children, Gina Howell and Eric Schneider; his grandchildren: Kara (Dylan) Perry, Emma, Rodney, Tava, Zach, Luke, and Oscar; his brothers, John and Scott; his sister, Mary Schneider; his mother-in-law, Betty Anderson; his dog, Cannon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Otto Anderson, and his special dog, Clint.
