Paul E. Goplin, 90 of Blair, died Thursday evening, January 13, 2011. Paul E. Goplin, 90 of Blair, died Thursday evening, January 13, 2011 at Grand View Care Center in Blair. He was born on April 6, 1920 to Peter and Edna (Peterson) Goplin in Vernon County, Wis. On April 15, 1961 he married Agnes Gilbertson and he spent his life farming. Paul was an avid deer hunter and once shot an 8 pt. buck which was proudly displayed on his wall, and he made bird houses and bird feeders that he enjoyed giving away. He was proud of his tools that were neatly displayed. Paul and Agnes traveled to many places, such as, Hawaii, Florida, California, and Canada, and he enjoyed dancing. Paul is survived by his wife, Agnes of Blair; one sister, Mamie Paulson of Westby; brothers-in-law: Lloyd Gilbertson, Arthur (Muriel) Gilbertson, Hensel (Jeanette) Gilbertson. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Grant, Arvid and Erling; one sister, Ona Hanson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Lower Pigeon Falls Ev. Lutheran Church, Pigeon Falls, Wis. Pastor Dale Moe will officiate with burial in the Lower Pigeon Falls Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 18 from 1:00 3:00 p.m at Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St., (Hwy14 S.) in Westby and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby is serving the family.
