Paul James 'Jim' Lomas Jr., age 67 of Gays Mills, died Sunday December 29, 2019. Jim was born January 4, 1952 in Boscobel WI to Paul Sr. and Geradine (George) Lomas. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Seneca High School. He was raised by his grandparents Jule (Hazel) Lomas. He worked for his dad at first hauling milk. He then moved to the Quad Cities where he went to work for I-H CASE. During a layoff period from CASE, Jim served his country in the US NAVY from Feb. 3, 1977 to Feb. 2, 1981. Upon returning stateside, Jim returned to CASE and retired after a combined 30 years. Jim moved back to Gays Mills and filled a lot of his retirement still working, doing odd jobs and snow removal and mowing for many friends and neighbors. He served on the Gays Mills Village Board for 2-years. Jim liked EVERYTHING Packers, hunting deer and Canadian fishing trips Jim is survived by his daughter Jamie Grunfell and three Grandchildren. Also surving are Jims brothers and sisters Nancy (Larry) Olson, Diane (Bill) Coleman, Bob "Lumpy" Lomas, Ruth Ann (Ken) Baures and Goldie (Matt) Barlow, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, PJ Ryan Lomas in November 2013. Funeral services for Jim will be Monday January 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 325 Sunset Ridge Ave & Hwy 131 in Gays Mills. Pastor Wayne Goplin of the BMZ Church will officiate. Burial with full Military Honors will follow the service at the Mt. Zion Cemetery on County Rd. W. Friends may call during a visitation 1-hour prior to the service, from10 to 11 at the funeral home. Please wear PACKERS clothing in Jims honor if youd like to. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to the charity of the donors choice in Pauls name.
