Pauline Frances Olson

Pauline Frances (Guist) Olson, age 97, of Soldiers Grove, passed away on April 29, 2020, at the Soldiers Grove Health Services in Soldiers Grove. She was born September 6, 1922, to Clarence and Minnie (Anderson) Guist. She married Thomas Sever Olson on October 21, 1944, at the home of Rev H.T. Haagenson on East Court St. Viroqua, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Pauline was baptized into Our Saviors Lutheran Church along with Donald, Larry, Karen & Susie all on the same day. Pauline worked in the restaurant with her father, on the apple orchards, as a cook at Kickapoo Inn for her brother, at the Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home and the Soldiers Grove Senior Citizen food site, as well as helping Tommy on the farm. Pauline is survived by her children: Donald (Lana) Olson, Larry (Nancy) Olson, Marla (Mike) Walsh, Paul (Annette) Olson, Teresa (Chris) Swiggum all of Soldiers Grove, Karen (Mike) Chaplinski Gilman, WI, Susie (Darwin) Utynek Oregon, WI, and Brian (Julie) Olson Fitchburg, WI. Grandchildren: Roger Olson, Dean Olson, Lori Clark, Jim Olson, Jennifer Johnson, Vince Chaplinski, Anna Danz, Andy Chaplinksi, Amelia Bauer, Angela Rechtzigel, Darrin Utynek, Darsie Lesar, Jason Walsh, Amanda Walsh, Crystal Pugh, James Olson, Lacy Moser, Briana Olson, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, step brother Nolan Turnmire, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Lavon Guist, sister Irene Wubbenhorst, and step-brother Donald Deckert. A private graveside service will be held for immediate family at Manning Cemetery, rural Readstown. The family would like to thank the Soldiers Grove Health Services and the Vernon Memorial Hospice Healthcare for the wonderful care given to their Mom.
