Pauline L. Stalsberg, 74 of Viroqua, died Friday, April 22, 2011 Pauline L. Stalsberg, age 74, of Viroqua, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on April 7, 1937 in Minneapolis MN to Olaf and Helene (Berge) Berg. Pauline graduated from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls MN in 1955. Following graduation she was employed by Trane Co in La Crosse WI and later moved back to Minneapolis MN where she was employed by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She married James Stalsberg on June 3, 1961 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Pauline was a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children. In 1980 she went back to work as a receptionist including 15 years of service in the emergency room at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Pauline was proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to New York City to attend Broadway shows, and wintering in Phoenix, AZ. She was known for her hospitality and generosity. She loved to chat with her two sisters online and enjoyed playing games with friends and family.Pauline was a member of the Viroqua Lionettes for many years. She served on the Friends of Vernon Memorial Hospital, and was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Westby. She is survived by three sons: Mark (Deborah) of Cedarburg, WI, Michael (Julianna) of Viroqua, Craig (Jennifer) of Madison; one daughter, Cynthia Miller (Robin) of La Crosse; eight grandchildren: Kristin & Jacob of Cedarburg, Evan, Kendal & Logan of La Crosse, Anna & Samuel of Madison, and Bailey of Viroqua; brother, Jim Berg of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Mary (Wally) Schafer of Bismarck ND; sister Carol (Laurel) Pearson of Dayton OH; many nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband James and her parents; Blessed be our memory of Pauline. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Adam Berge will officiate with burial in the Bethesda Cemetery, Rural Westby. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street in Viroqua and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Acadamy, Viroqua Lionettes, Vernon Memorial Hospital or Bethesda Lutheran Church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
