Pauline M. Brueggen, age 73 of Westby, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Pauline M. (Manske) Brueggen, 73, of Westby died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in her home. She was born in La Crosse, WI, to Elmer and Adeline (Beitlich) Manske on May 18, 1937. She attended Cliffside School and graduated from Westby area schools. She attended WWTC in La Crosse and graduated with honors in nursing. She worked for 37 years as an LPN at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at St. Peters Evangelica Lutheran Church at Chaseburg. She married Robert Manske on January 25, 1955; they later divorced. She married Donald Brueggen in March of 1978. Pauline is survived by six children: Kathy Strait (Roger Skrede) and son Jacob of Cashton; Sharon (James) Weiker and sons Andrew (Karin) Weiker, great-granddaughter Kendell; and Jordan Weiker, of Cashton; Laverne Manske of LaCrosse, WI, and daughter Tina (Dean) Allen; great-granddaughter Kaitlyn of Redford Michigan; Jessica, Adam, Emily and Molly Manske of Tomah, WI; Patty (Larry) Gabrielson and son Matthew of La Farge, WI; Melanie (Richard) Bright and daughter Megan of Bangor, WI. Step-grandchildren Aaron (Alison) Bright and son Cain of Onalaska, WI; Amanda (David) Van Fleet and sons Dawson and Dylan of Beloit, WI; Ellen (Duane) Johnson and daughters Ashley and Jennifer of Cashton, WI; special friend Jerome Johnson, of Blair, WI; Sister Charlotte Eilertson, LaCrosse, WI; brothers Myron (Ann) Manske, Chaseburg, Marvin (Nancy) Manske, LaCrosse, WI; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Robert Manske; and Husband Donald Brueggen. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main, in Westby. Pastor John Berg will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
