Pearl Knudson, 97, of Viroqua died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Pearl Knudson, 97, of Viroqua died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Pearl was born in the town of Franklin in Vernon County on February 2, 1913 to John and Ellen (Bolstad) Eide. She was baptized and confirmed in Franklin Lutheran Church and graduated from Viroqua High School in 1932.On August 18, 1934 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Knudson in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Kenneth died on February 27, 1976. Pearl owned and operated the Mautz Paint Store for 25 years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of Priscilla circle and WELCA. Pearl was also a former member of the Viroqua Chamber of Commerce and Business and Professional Women.Pearl is survived by nephews: Jerry (Linda) Nedland, Milton, WI, James (Gail) Nedland, Bowling Green, KY; nieces: Janet (John) Reed, Viroqua, Ellen (Arden) Unseth, Viroqua, Joyce Ann Benson, Portage, Kim (Jeff) Stillwell, Portage, Sandy (Tom) Stefanowski, Makwonago, WI, Linda Stachnik, Milwaukee; and many great nieces and nephews.Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents; siblings: Herman, Kenneth and John Eide Jr., Evelyn Nedland, and Helen Sierpinski; and foster sister Ida Johnson.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street (Hwy. 56) in Viroqua and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
